Mudrika makes handcrafted silver products. Hand-drawn sketches designs are fashioned in silver by skilled artisans.
We wanted to highlight the unique brand process wherein hand made custom designs of products are translated into metal. This is a meeting point of free-flowing contemporary artistry and an age-old trade practised by generations of master craftsmen.
Logo
The logo can be split into two distinct visual languages:
Fun Fact: The hand written part of the logo is a custom font created using the handwriting of the founder
This bifurcated logo set the tone for the entire brand and all the extensions that followed.
Packaging
Using jewel tones to showcase luxury, we used the grid pattern as the base to create geometric illustrations for the packaging sleeves and boxes. The grid is used in silver. This grid helped us achieve a dynamic system that could change as the brand kept changing. The patterns on the boxes could be created to reflect any new collection that Mudrika launched. We started out with 3 distinct looks: The lotuses as their classic look, birds since that was the current collection they had launched and a monkey for their circus animal kid's collection!
Art Direction
The rebrand and rebirth of Mudrika was to break the common notion that all things silver are boring and stuffy. To add the much needed edge to these photos, and keep building on our concept of 'from sketch to reality' we choose to do photos on white cement backgrounds. This helped us create impressions of all the silver goods leading to beautiful photos.
